Unknown Spirit Gives His Name and Address
_____________________________________________________________

AT a sitting with Charles Bailey, in Sydney, a spirit announced himself as a Mr. McCarthy. He said that he too was from South Africa, and although we did not know him, he knew us.

He said he had lived at 12 Goodman Terrace, Fairwood, Johannesburg, just two doors up from where we lived at No. 16.

It was three years since we lived at that address, and we had never met the occupants of No. 12 Goodman Terrace. We wrote to a friend in Johannesburg, and he later informed us that a Mrs. McCarthy lived at No. 12, but that she and her husband had separated two years before.

She had no idea what had become of him, did not even know that he was "dead," and apparently did not care. This seemed very good proof to us of Survival, as the medium in Australia could not possibly have known this information.

EASTER SEANCE
On Easter morning this year, in the flat of Murdo MacDonald-Bayne, who at that time was in Los Angeles -- he is now lecturing in London -- we had a very wonderful sitting with Mrs. Estelle White, one of America's best trumpet and materialisation mediums.

Mrs. White does not go into trance, but is conscious of all that transpires at her sittings. Mrs. White sat on a swivel chair that had been in the store room of the building for over a year, and squeaked every time a move was made.

We all, including the medium, joined in the singing of a hymn, and while we were singing, four separate spirit entities joined us from various parts of the room, singing in perfect harmony. We could distinctly hear the medium's soprano voice all the time.

One of the voices was a deep bass, another a tenor, another a child's voice, and the fourth a deep contralto of marvellous power. The control later told us it was Schuman Heinck, and at my request she sang us a solo in the independent voice.

During the seance, we received many communications from our departed relatives and also from our guides. In addition, there were four easily recognisable materialisations.

A very convincing proof of the projection of the etheric body occurred when MacDonald-Bayne and I were sending out absent healing to my little nephew, 700 miles from where we were enjoying a short holiday in the mountains near Los Angeles.

MacDonald-Bayne left his body during the healing, and while he was in trance he grabbed my left hand and gave it a very severe manipulation. When he came out of trance he told me he had been at the boy's bedside and given him a manipulation to his left hand which had been crippled from birth.

CONFIRMATION
A few weeks later, when visiting the boy's parents in Midvale, Utah, I started to tell them of this experience, but they stopped me, saying they would like first to tell me what had occurred there. They placed the date exactly, and said that the boy had retired for the night and had gone to sleep. My brother and his wife were in the sitting room reading.

The boy came running out of his room, shaking his left hand and in considerable alarm said that someone had been in his room had grabbed his hand, rubbed it and shaken it all around.

They were rather mystified, but knowing that I was interested in healing, they thought that I must have had something to do with it and left the matter in abeyance until my arrival, when they intended to tell me about it. I was told that the hand was much more pliable than formerly, and whereas previously the boy had not been able even to move his fingers, he could now do so, and was using his hand for assisting the right to guide his bicycle, and to hold a baseball bat.

Tibet Makes Headlines
______________________________________

THE "Daily Mail" printed, the other day, a highly sensationalised story, with glaring headlines, by Theo Bernard, who said, among other things, that he became a lama and witnessed "secret rites"in "darkest Tibet."

In this luridly-written account the author declared that he made "searching investigations into stories of levitation and dematerialisation, but the higher lamas agreed with me in not believing that such phenomena exist."

I showed the article to Murdo MacDonald-Bayne, who recently travelled from Tibet and told in Psychic News how he witnessed materialisations and other psychic phenomena in that land.

He was not very impressed with Theo Bernard's article. He is going to deal with it in Psychic News next week.
